KENYA WILDLIFE SERVICE HEADQUARTERS PROJECTS
Client: Kenya Wildlife Service
Brief: An international design competition which comprised the planning and design of an entirely new headquarter complex for KWS including offices, cafeteria, up-market restaurant, landscaping and other civil works plus ancilliary facilities..
Status: Completedsuccessfully in 1997
Project Cost: Kshs 120,000,000
Involvement: Whilst employed with Mrutu Salmann. Architect-in-charge. Involved liaison with donor agaency, Kenya Wildlife Service, Worldbank, construction team and consultants team.
MASAI MARA I.B.R.D. PROJECT, MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE
Client: Kenya Wildlife Service
Brief: The rehabilitation of gate houses, staff housing and renovation to existing facilities. The project involved re-design and construction of gate houses. Funded by the World Bank and overseen by Narok County Council.
Status: Completed in September 1994
Project Cost: Kshs 42,000,000
Involvement: Whilst employed with Mrutu Salmann. Team Leader and Lead Consultant/Architect.
Involved Liaison with donor agency, Kenya Wildlife Service, Ministry of Finance, construction team and consultant team.in charge from inception to completion including design and supervision.
REHABILITATION OF MERU MULIKA LODGE - PROPOSAL
Client: Kenya Tourism Development Corporation
Brief: Rehabilitation of an existing but badly run down tourist class hotel within the Meru National Park.
Status: Successful proposal availed to KTDC - however project was stalled at design stage due to withdrawal by strategic partners who were expected to fund the project in 1995.
Project Cost: Estimated cost was replaced at Kshs 75,000,000
Involvement: Team Leader & Lead Consultant/Architect.
REHABILITATION AND PLANNING OF WILDLIFE CLUBS OF KENYA OFFICES AT KISUMU
Client: Wildlife Clubs Of Kenya .
Brief: Rehabilitation of existing WCK ofices on shores of Lake Victoria.
Status: Projected abandoned at proposal stage due to lack of funds.
Project Cost: Estimated at Kshs 25,000,000
Involvement: Team Leader & Lead Consultant/Architect
 
PAWS NORTHERN PACKAGE - PROPOSAL
Client: Kenya Wildlife Service.
Brief: Rehabilitation of KWS facilities including gate houses, staff housing and renovation to existing facilities. The project involved re-design and construction of the facilities. Funded by the World Bank.
Status: Unsuccessful bid.
   
Involvement: Whilst employed with Mrutu Salmann. Team Leader & Lead Consultant/Architect at proposal stage. This included the physical survey of facilities, preparation of Technical and Financial Proposals as well as co-ordination of the various parties involved.

Involvement: Architect at proposal stage. This included the physical survey of facilities, preparation of Technical and Financial proposals as well as co-ordination of various parties involved.
